Hi Steve
I received your PSR™ method to review for Julie Williams website,
and am very impressed with both content and packaging.
As a professional voice talent for 15+ years and a consumer of 'all things
voiceover', I've become somewhat jaded by some of the slapped together
products that are being sold on the market for a fast buck today. Your
product is the example of the exception. Extremely well produced, thoughtfully
arranged and tastefully packaged, this is a 'master class in a box' for
voiceovers.
Steve is not only a world-class voice over artist, but also a master trainer
and it shows in the arrangement and delivery of his curriculum. Every
concept is clearly explained in easy-to-understand language. The material
is delivered logically and thoroughly and was professionally recorded
and voiced by Steve, who is the perfect presenter for this type of project.
This is a well-thought-out package I will highly recommend for beginning
voice actors. And it is a terrific course for any non-voice people (Lawyers,
CEO’s,HR trainers etc) that need to improve their vocal presentation
skills. I completed the CD course feeling inspired and ready for whatever
auditions the email inbox could throw at me.
Bravo on a great job. You've taught this 'old dog' a new trick or two.

Hi Steve
I can happily report to you that in a two hour industrial voice session
just yesterday, I was using your '2,3' counting technique and your method
of breaking run-on sentences into shorter sentences. The results were
terrific.
I was not only able to deliver the technically dense material more convincingly,
but also I found that my concentration and attention was more keenly directed
to the script, resulting in fewer mistakes.
Best Regards
Gene Tognacci

Thanks Steve!
I only wish I had known about your PSR™ Method while I was actually
working for the BBC! I was a producer and presenter at the BBC World Service
for ten years and what I know now (and practise) would have saved a lot
of production time and made programmes more effective. During the course
of that decade I must have produced thousands of programmes and presented
many hundreds. A lot of them lacked one essential ingredient that is supposed
to be the lifeblood of every broadcaster – listenability. There
was no formal training at the BBC and when guidance was offered it wasn’t
a patch on PSR.
I learned more about reading and broadcasting in two half-day sessions
with you Steve, than I did in ten years at the BBC. Only now can I count
myself a professional broadcaster and voiceover.

I think Steve did an excellent job
in creating a programme that teaches key concepts in a logical manner.
Steve talked about how talent should not emphasise the last word in a
sentence. It's mind-boggling how many talents do this, and he is right...
even just stopping that one bad habit can do wonders for your delivery.
The programme is short and to the point. The student listens to a segment,
opens the binder and practises the skill... records and goes on to listen
to the next segment. It's a good way to teach (I like to do this in my
live workshop) because one skill builds upon another.
Steve does a great job of really teaching voiceover skills.
I love Steve's availability, though. He corresponds with students as needed.
And in today's global voiceover marketplace, a thousand miles away is
really as close as your computer.

My first thought upon receiving the
review product was, 'Wow! This is nicely put together!'
I’ll start by saying that Steve Hudson has a pleasant voice to listen
to and obviously follows his own teachings. My attention was held throughout
the course. He explains in great detail each of these lessons in such
a way that you come away from the course feeling that you’ve truly
learned something that will help you in your voiceover career. Also provided
in the workbook are sample scripts of radio and TV commercials and thoughts
on how to go about making your demo.
I’ve been a broadcaster for over 20 years. Did I come away from
this home study course feeling as if I learned something? Yeah I did,
and yeah, I’ll go back and do the lessons because I feel it will
make a difference in my radio career and my fledgling voiceover career.
If you truly want to learn a technique that will give you an edge, then
this is an investment that you want to make!
As grandpa used to say; 'Boy, the day you stop learning, is the day you
dig a six foot hole and crawl in!'

Dear Steve,
Many thanks for all your help on the Voice Master course. At first it
felt a bit strange, learning how to read again. However, once we got started,
I realised how much I actually took reading out loud for granted or, more
importantly, how when we read aloud, we don’t do it properly.
Working in the media, my job is all about communication, and thanks to
this course, I can do my job with that added confidence. As a floor manager
I often have to coach presenters in reading their own scripts. I am now
able to do this more effectively, having learned of the various techniques
involved in PSR™ (Presentation Skills & Reading). I also became
more aware how many people working in television and radio have not been
taught the basics in presentation and delivery of scripts.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone, in any occupation.
You don't have to work in television, it can help you in any situation.
Not only do you learn the techniques of reading from voiceovers, but you
also become aware of your own voice, how you can control it and adapt
it to different situations. Whether you are reading the news or dealing
with a problematic customer in a shop, the techniques learned on the Voice
Master course will certainly help you.
Thanks again,
Karen Graham

As I started to thumb my way through
the introductions it occurred to me that this would be a very nice starter
set for someone who is just getting into the business of voiceover acting.
It would also be a very good refresher for those of us who have been doing
this for quite some time.
My first impression of the audio CDs was its layout and design, well thought
out, and well positioned to coincide with the workbooks, it was well prepared.
As we all know, it takes literally years of practice to achieve the success
we all seek. As I listened intently to the narrator and followed along
in the workbooks, it flowed well. The narrator gives you opportunities
to practise or 'parrot' his audio delivery styles.
I most certainly would recommend the product to aspiring voice talents,
as well as seasoned professionals who might like a refresher on delivering
voice narration and character reads.

This is an impressive-looking package
of fun! Extremely well prepared and professionally packaged. Classy yet
simple.
Steve Hudson has a delightful and professional voice and explains his
course in a clear and easy to understand manner. Though I am only half-way
through the course I do feel as my ability to interpret copy has strengthened
and I really liked the exercise for finding the right volume when speaking
or reading. I found my #1 through #10 voice and understand the differences.
I am looking forward to finishing the course and sending along my first
and last recordings for Steve to review and 'grade'.
All in all a good package, I feel it’s a great program for confidence,
reading skills and the ability to communicate effectively and that makes
it a worthwhile investment.

Dear Steve,
I thought I would drop you a line to let you know how I am doing.
Since attending your PSR™ Method course, I have been successful
in landing quite a few voiceover jobs – ranging from website introductions
to corporate narrations for companies – AND have got repeat business
already at prices ranging from £75 to £350 per job.
I really can’t thank you enough – I thought I could talk and
read quite well (well you do don’t you?), that was until I attended
your course and really started to learn how to do it.
Once again, Steve, thanks a lot.
Kind regards

Hi Steve,
I’ve now finished the PSR™ Method Home Study Course and thought
I would drop you a line with a couple of comments.
I was amazed at how much there is to learn about a ‘simple’
thing like reading and talking! It was a really interesting experience
and everyone at work has noticed the difference and I must say I feel
more confident when I’m talking to clients. I’ve already spoken
to my manager who would like details of your corporate training.
We don’t have a big staff here, only about 100 people, but most
of them spend a great deal of time on the telephone.
Can you give me advice on recording a demo CD, also about scripts?
Thanks again,
Kind regards

Hi Steve,
Many thanks again to the course, I found it very educating and I learnt
a lot about myself, the way I talk and use my voice, and the way people
retain information when listening to voices.
It's nice to see and be taught by someone who wants to maintain standards
in our advertising industry.
So many agency people spend their tight budget on a creative process,
aimed primarily at winning awards and forgetting that, ultimately, an
ad has to appeal in some way to the people.
The only way to do this is to do it properly, and by using professionally
trained voices. It has been proven that ads using trained voices stay
with people more then when the same ad doesn't have a trained voice. Therefore,
from a creative point of view, I now know how voices can help me produce
the most effective ad I can.
Thanks Steve!
Best wishes,

Dear Steve,
I attended the Voice Master PSR™ Method course to qualify as a voiceover.
However, I would just like to let you know how the techniques I learnt
on the PSR™ Method course have helped me study for my Masters degree.
Through my own experience, it is assumed that reading is a given for the
academic student. However, the techniques learnt on the course can improve
the efficiency with which you read and can help to absorb and assimilate
information more effectively in any area.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Sarah Davies MBChB

Dear Steve,
Thank you for all your support on the course. I would like to put on record
that the PSR™ Method is the best staff development course I have
attended in twenty years. It has made me totally rethink my own delivery
style as a presenter and tutor.
I have adopted many of the things that the course covered in terms of
timing, voice control and delivery style and I would strongly recommend
the PSR™ Method course to anyone in the corporate world, as well
as teachers and lecturers.
Yours sincerely,

Dear Steve,
As a regular broadcaster on Radio 4, I already appreciated the importance
of getting the message across first time in an interesting and entertaining
way – there’s no chance of re-reading something on the radio!
Although I have what is regarded as a 'good' radio voice, I felt there
was much more I could be doing. A friend recommended the PSR™ Method
and I contacted Voice Master to find out more. I joined you for one of
the most illuminating afternoons of my broadcasting career and by the
end of the session things were starting to fall into place. By the follow-up
session I had already started to slip back into same bad habits, but not
before listeners and colleagues began to comment on how relaxed and confident
I was sounding on air. I feel my sessions with you have really helped
me focus on how to present in a clear professional way. It's also given
me the skills and confidence to move into the world of voiceovers and
corporate narration.

Dear Steve,
I must say that although I came to the course as a professionally trained
actor, the PSR™ Method has proved invaluable in giving me with the
very specific skills I needed for my public speaking. I cannot think of
a better and more essential preparation to give me the confidence I needed.
I would not hesitate to recommend it!

Dear Steve,
Since I finished the PSR™ Method course, I have recorded several
voiceovers. Although I have done voiceovers before, I realise now the
importance of the PSR™ Method because it has made me more confident
and I found that voiceover recordings were finished quicker.
In one job in particular I even amazed myself! There was another person
who was supposed to work with me but didn't turn up, and I ended up doing
twice the work in half the time, due to your training, and they only had
to pay one person, not two.
It was great. It was for Friends of the Earth, and they were very grateful
because their budget was very tight.

Dear Steve,
I am a producer on the station and am the station voice as well. I also
do three weekend shows. One is a Club and Dance show (Disco Nights), the
other a chat show where I talk with CEOs and directors of companies (Brunch
with the Boss) and the final one is a Top 20 Bollywood countdown show.
I regularly lend my voice for corporate films and documentaries and the
PSR™ Method was instrumental in getting me ahead of the crowd.
Hope to hear from you as well and pray that all is well in London.
Kind regards,
Rohit Jayakaran.
